Thymus vulgaris is the botanical name for a plant that is native to parts of Europe and Asia. It has various common names including 'Black Thyme', 'Common Thyme', 'English Thyme', 'French Thyme', 'German Thyme', and 'Winter Thyme'.
'Garden Thyme' grows to about eighteen inches in height and diameter and can also be successfully grown indoors in a pot. If your kitchen has a sunny window, it is a perfect place to grow thyme, and other cooking herbs, for convenient access for use fresh during cooking. Used as a seasoning, it is said to help in the digestion of fatty foods.
'Garden Thyme' is a perennial and survives in USDA zones 4 to 9. Each packet contains 0.1 gram of seeds which is approximately 60 seeds
