First appearing in B. K. Bliss and Sons catalog for 1870, it was developed in the vicinity of Nantes, France by selecting for desired traits from the older variety called 'Half Long Stump Rooted' carrot.^[1] Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 650 seeds.
