65 days — As its name implies, 'Sugar Snap' is a sugar snap pea variety. Its pods are tasty and tender when young, but do develop strings at maturity. The productive vines are resistant to Fusarium Wilt Race 1,[1,2] are vigorous, and can reach six feet so they will require trellising or some other comparable form of support. While excellent when harvested and enjoyed fresh, the pods freeze well, but do not stand up to canning temperatures.
'Sugar Snap' pea was bred and introduced by Gallatin Valley Seed Company of Twin Falls, Idaho in 1977 and was an "All-America Selection®" winner in 1979. Each ounce is approximately 110 seeds, which is generally enough to plant at least a ten foot row.
